Dive Sites

BALICASAG BLACK FOREST: It is called black forest due to its abundance of black corals. Swimming through the branches of these corals is quite an enjoyable experience. The drop off falls down slowly after 12 meters from the surface until 40 meters (sandy bottom). There are also many soft and hard corals as well as special butterfly fishes (Heniochus acuminatus).

BALICASAG FISH SANCTUARY: This is a protected marine site considered as the breeding place for the "bonitas" (jack fish). Most of the time, there are about thousands swimming together. Balicasag Island is one of the best-known diving locations in the Visayans together with Palawan in the Philippines. The wall goes down directly to about 45 meters and then it slopes to 80 meters or more. There are many small caves between 10 and 30 meters with soft and hard corals. Varieties of small tropical fishes are abundant.

BALICASAG DIVER'S HEAVEN: The reef starts off at about 5 meters. The bottom composition is mainly sand, hard corals, and going to the ledge of the reef (8 meters), many nice soft corals are seen.

BALICASAG RUDY'S ROCK: Wall (5 - 40m), Sanctuary, School of Barracudas, School of Jack fish, Big variety of soft and hard corals. Many different coral fish. Good for snorkeling.

SNAKE ISLAND: Also called Cervera shoal, under water island (12 - 40m), Sea Snakes, Garden Eels, etc

CABILAO ISLAND: Cabilao Island used to be known for the hammerhead sharks specially when the temperature of the water is colder (December and January). The wall is very nice with many gorgones, sea-fans hard corals, etc. Barracudas, butterfly fishes, bonitas, and other tropical fishes are also abundant. The wall goes down to more than 50 meters, and on one place it start only at 30 meters deep.

PAMILACAN ISLAND: Gradually descending reef slope (10 - 40m), Barracuda, Trigger fish, Mackerel, Tunas, Napoleon, Nudi Branch, Sea Slug, Garden Eel, Giant Potato Cod, etc.

DOLJO POINT: Gradually descending reef slope and a very nice wall with several different kinds of Sea Fans. Barracudas, many coral fish and from Jan / Feb / March there is a big possibility to see Hammerheads. PUNTOD ISLAND: (4-40m) The reef topography has nice formations of rocks with hard and soft corals and sandy bottom. A lot of different coral fish around and perfect for snorkeling.

KALIPAYAN 1: Wall (3 - 18m), Bat Fish, Sea Snake, Moray Eel, Ghost Pipefish, Sea Horse, etc. Travel time: 5 min

KALIPAYAN 2: Long slope (5 - 30m), Eagle Ray, Sea Snake, Frog Fish, etc. Travel Time: 10 min Cod, etc. HOUSE REEF: Sloop / Wall (4 - 20m), Sand eel, Lionfish, Giant barracuda, Scorpion fish, etc. Very nice hard and soft coral formations.

HABAGAT WRECK: (35m) The best is to start the dive at the wreck and move towards the wall. To see: Batfish, big Lion Fish, giant Angler Fish and many different kinds of Cardinal Fishes. APO ISLAND: Together with other small islands located south of Negros Province, Apo Island is as beautiful in the surface as it is underwater. The government has taken steps in preserving the beauty of this island by declaring it as a marine sanctuary. Among the life forms divers expect to see, are school of jacks, different species of pelagic fishes, giant clams, and formations of magnificent hard corals.

SUMILON ISLAND: Situated in the south of Cebu, Sumilon is a small island surrounded by a white sand beach. The dive starts in 5 meters of water, until the end of the drop off around 18-22 meters deep. Numerous table corals and fishes (clown fish with sea anemone) can be found in between 8-18 meters. Sea turtles could be occasionally seen in the site.
